1 tbsp milk
1 slice cheese
any additional fillings such as bacon bits, ham, sausage, vegetables
1/2 tsp butter
Beat the eggs and milk in a bowl. Salt and pepper to taste. Melt the butter in a small skillet, then add egg mixture. Place in fillings. Cook until the edges are fully cooked and the center is starting to set. Fold in the sides and flip. Cook for another 30 seconds to a minute.
Omelets are a pretty easy and quick breakfast, and you can put just about anything in them. I like them pretty simple, just eggs, a little milk to make it fluffier, salt, pepper, pepper jack cheese, and bacon bits. You can use whatever kind of cheese you like, and add in other meats or vegetables, just don’t put in too much for a small omelet. To start you want to beat the eggs, milk, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Melt the butter in a small skillet on medium heat (I generally use a 6 in skillet), then pour in the egg mixture. Add your toppings onto the center of the egg.
Cook until the edges are fully cooked, and the center starts to set. It may bubble up if some air gets underneath the egg, it will still cook fine. Carefully fold over the edges of the omelet, then flip it over completely and let the other side cook for 30 seconds to a minute.
